(TNHS Ant Research Group) have rediscovered the species Indomyrma dasypyx Brown 1986. This is a rare ant not seen after its initial description in 1986 from Western Ghats of Kerala. Indomyrma is an Asian genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae.The genus contains only two known species in the world. The type species Indomyrma dasypyx known from India and Indomyrma bellae known from Vietnam.length 2.5-3mm. And needless to say this was the first ever live photograph of the species!
